onwaiheke is a mobile-first, location aware, directory to help you find the best Waiheke has to offer. It’s like an app, but one you don’t have to install.

Most visitors to Waiheke rely on mobile to find their way around, technologies like Google Search + Maps; onwaiheke was borne largely out of seeing the frustration many visitors were having. There are many business directories on Waiheke, but none were location aware or mobile friendly and many only had paid listings. We set about trying to make it easier for visitors to really enjoy what Waiheke has to offer.

We have also gone one step further, including things like beaches, public toilets and medical services – useful information to visitors.

For visitors to the island, it is quick and intuitive to search by your location or category for what is around you. No need to log in, just useful information right at your fingertips – it can even be shared online. Visitors are also able to upload photos and rate the locations that they visit (login required).

Listing owners can easily create or claim their own listings and then easily keep them up to date. No need to involve a web developer or 3rd party, it is super-simple and they have the power at their own fingertips. Listing owners also have the ability to respond to reviews and remove photo’s or reviews where they are deemed inappropriate.
